First Annual Cotter-Carlisle Bowling Tournament

I have so many things I would like to blog about but I've just been lazy the last couple months and not done it.  I have not blogged anything real since Chris' Birthday.  So that means I need to blog on 3 Christmas Celebrations, a chili cook-off, and an ice storm.  It may take me a few weeks to get all those done but you can be looking forward to them. Today I am going to tell you about  the First Annual Carlisle Wii Bowling Tournament.

The Week after Christmas was a very exciting time for my family.  For the first time since February we were all going to be together.  My brother Chris (whom I will call Uncle Chris to reduce the confusion), his wife Katherine and their two kids, my brother Jon and his girlfriend Gina, My Mom and Dad, and Chris, Jordan, and myself.  In case your wondering, thats 11 people! All of us getting together is a very rare thing and this was extra special for me because I was getting to meet Gina for the first time.

Once everyone arrived the fun and games began.  We had gotten a Wii a few weeks earlier and were very excited to introduce the rest of the family to this addicting game.  Jon had also just gotten a Wii the week before and was eager to show us what he could do! So one evening after Chris and Katherine had gotten off work we decided it was time for a bowling tournament.  Since there were 9 of us playing we ended up doing 3 games. The 4 highest scoring would move on to play in the final.  I will just say that I wasn't good at all.  I was happy to just break 100!!  Its been so long ago that I don't remember who played in each game but I do know who made the finals.  Chris, Uncle Chris, Jon, and Gina would be battling for the title.  I must also say that we were playing in a VERY small apartment and it was hard to find room enough to get a good bowling swing in.  Audrey (who is 1) is at the perfect level to get smacked in the face and Austin (3) and Jordan (6) just wanted to be in the middle of the action.  I want to give you a visual of the events now.  I am going to start first with a picture of the Losers....I don't have a picture of myself for obvious reasons... Here are a few action shots of the others.

IMG_0457.JPGSo this is Dad...It actually looks like hes playing baseball in this picture, but its the only one I have.

IMG_0464.JPGKat was so funny...She was preoccupied by the kids and was walking up and just chunking the ball...She still managed to beat me though! And it looks like Jon is the security for our game...Hes holding on to J's shotgun.

IMG_0460.JPGI don't have a picture of Mom playing either.  She too was preoccpied with her grandkids!

Jordan also played but I didn't get a picture of that either.  I don't know what I was thinking! So then it was time for the finals.

IMG_0462.JPGLooks like Jon was taking this seriously.

Gina was a natural.  Just wish I could have gotten a picture of her face.   I love this picture though because it shows how fast and hard they were swining their arms.

This game may look easy, but its not! Uncle Chris was trying real hard to be the winner

Chris was determined to not let a bunch of Carlisles beat him! (Confession, this picture wasn't taken on the same day.  Its the only one I had of Chris playing Wii. Shhhh don't tell)

And after a few close calls with Audrey...

  1. Looks like you had such a blast! I love playing Wii at my sisters house. It's nice that they've finally made a game for all ages (and I can say that because even my mom plays Wii and loves it).

My question now...is what is your Wii Fit age?
