All I want for Christmas is.....My two front teeth

The whole time I was growing up I can remember my Dad singing the Christmas song, "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Frong Teeth" I use to think that song was so funny.  I can't remember when I lost my front teeth but I'm sure when I did my Dad sang it to me.  It didn't matter if it was Christmas or not.  Well now I have a reason to sing that song to Jordan.  He is now 6 and a half and losing his teeth very quickly.  I even told him the other day he was going to pu the tooth fairy out of business!  Last week Jordan lost one of his top front teeth.  The other one was very loose and we knew it was just a matter of time before it fell out as well.  This morning, J got up and smiled and Chris and we noticed that the gap in his mouth was even larger.  At some point in the night he had lost his other front tooth.  And what do you know, its Christmas time! It has been real fun to be able to sing that song and it be true! I just thought this was funny so I wanted to blog about it.  This will hopefully be the only year we can sing this song ot Jordan so we are going ot have some fun with it.  Jordan said that he does want his front teeth for Christmas but he wants other stuff too.  I guess he thought we were serious when we told him all Santa was going to bring him was those two teeth! Have a great day and I hope this picture of Jordan makes you smile.

Santa's Nice List

Christmas is coming and the Cotter house is ready! I wanted to introduce you to a very fun site for families.  Recently I found Santa and Mrs. Clause on twitter and decided it might be fun to follow them. I then discovered that Santa has a website! On this website you can do a number of things.  Send questions to Santa, post your Christmas list and view the Naughty/nice list.  Mrs. Claus has a section for her favorite recipes and another place for Christmas crafts.  This has been so fun for me. When we recieve twitter updates I often read them to Jordan so he can know what Santa is up to.  Tonight we decided it was time to see if Jordan was on Santa's nice list.  We went to the forum and found the list for Texas.  We saw pretty close to the top Jordan C.-Euless! J was so excited! As of tonight hes not getting coal for Christmas.  Below is a screenshot

If this is something you would like to do for your family the website is http://welcometothenorthpole.com Once on the website you will have to register for the forum and then follow the easy steps to get your kids name on the list.  It puts your child's name on both the naughty and the nice and depending on what kind of day your having, you can show them either list.  Great way to get kids to act better!

Just an update

Just thought that a quick update was needed. Last time I blogged I was feeling horrible and didn't know what was going to happen.   After several days of my heart racing and severe anxiety I went back to the doctor for help. I honestly thought I was going to die.  My heart was racing, i was breathing fast, my chest hurt, and I had aches and pains everywhere. The doctor told me that it was all my anxiety, she did an EKG just to make sure and said my heart was fine.  Just her saying that was enough to relax me but I still had the issue of my heart racing.  Back in high school I had this problem and was put on medicine to regulate it.  About a year ago, I was doing better so I gradually backed off the medicine.  I hadn't had a problem until last week.  After talking to the doctor we decided it was time to get back on the medication.  Within 3o minutes of taking the medicine my heart had slowed down to a much more normal rate.  I am feeling better for the most part.  Today is my last day of the antibiotic so I hope that once that is out of my system I will back closer to normal. I don't think I will ever take this medication again, it may have cleared up the infection but it made me feel horrible!  I am still dealing with the anxiety, but knowing it is only that helps me move on faster.  I am trying to get out and exercise more and just live a healthier life.  I believe that will help a great deal too! I appreciate all of the phone calls, messages, and prayers throughout the past couple of weeks.  Anxiety is a VERY scary thing and I would not have been able to make it without my family and friends.  I'm not saying it over, but we now have a plan.  I believe that with God, family, and friends, things will improve a little more each day.

On a happier note.  Jordan has been busy the last couple of weeks with making pumpkins and being a pilot.  I hope to get a photo blog up today.

My crazy week!

Well it is late Saturday night.  I should be in bed but for some reason I can't sleep.  This has been a weird week for me.  I never thought a sinus infection could be so painful.  My family is tired of hearing me talk about it so it is now time to blog about it.  A week ago Friday I got a cold that I just couldn't seem to shake.  On Wednesday the cold was getting better but I woke up with great pain in my nose and teeth.  I lived with the pain the rest of the day and didn't think much of it.  On Thursday however I couldn't take it anymore.  I called a dentist and my doctor to find out if they thought it was a medical or dental issue.  Nether one of them could see me until at least Monday.  They told me to take Advil and come and see them next week.  I didn't like that answer at all.  I have NEVER been in that much pain! I went to a care now clinic.  As if the pain wasn't enough, I had to have an anxiety attack while there.  My heart was going 170 when the doctor came in.  She said, we need to slow that heart down.  I told her that as soon as I left her office it would go down.  Doctors have that affect on me.  I don't know why! So anyway, she examined me briefly and said that I had a sinus infection.  She gave me some antibiotics and pain killers.  Later that evening I  took both and went to bed.  I woke up the next morning, Friday, looking like I had a Halloween mask.  My face was swollen.  Of course, I was home alone and got worried! I started thinking I was having a reaction to the medicine.  After talking to the pharmacy and the nurse at Care Now they convinced me it was just the infection.  The swelling did not go down so last evening the doctor called in a prescription nasal spray to bring down the swelling.  I am happy to say that something worked! My face is almost back to normal.  The pain for the most part is gone.  I am having a few minor issues, one of which being my anxiety.  I don't know what is causing it tonight.  Chris told me as w e were getting ready for bed that I was breathing fast. That scared me because I didn't understand why I would be breathing fast.  I sat there thinking about how I was breathing which of course made it worse.  I am sitting here on the couch still very conscience of it.  Every time I forget about it and just breath normal I think, do i always breath shallow? The constant worrying gets old. It causes little aches and pains that my mind mistakes for huge medical issues.   I sure wish I could just relax.  I probably shouldn't have eaten so much candy.  I may just have to much sugar in my system.

One sad thing about this whole weekend is what we have had to not do.  Jordan joined Cub Scouts back in September and Chris and I are the leaders.  We have been planning for months a camp out with the pack.  We had all the stuff bought and we were ready to go and then I got sick.  It was hard explaining to Jordan why we couldn't go.  He is such a good kid that he understood.  After crying a bit, we quickly found things to take his mind off of it.  We played Candy land and built a huge fort, which he is now camping out in!  Well, I better run for now.  It is 1am.  That is way past my bedtime.  Oh but wait! We set the clocks back tonight so its really only Midnight! That is still past my bedtime :)

I hope everyone had a great Halloween.  Jordan dressed up as  a pilot.  I will get some pictures up when I can!
