Come on Razorback fans, get over it!

Good Saturday morning.  I decided this morning that I wanted to Blog about something that is really bugging me.  It has to do with a small, or maybe not so small, group of Razorback fans.I am very frustrated by the news reports I am hearing.

I guess I should give a brief background.  11 years ago Arkansas hired a former Razorback, Houston Nutt, as their head coach.  The enthusiasm for Nutt was huge! Over the course of the next ten years, Houston Nutt led the Hogs to 75 Victories and 8 bowl games.  Many big names have came through his program and went on ot play in the NFL.  One player was a runner up in the Heisman. Houston Nutt being the head coach had a part in all these players successes.  I will admit that last year, things got a little sticky.  Many things were said and dont by Houston Nutt, the players, and the media that never hsould ahve happened.  It may have been time for Houston to leave, but the way the fans have and continue to react is sickening.  Razorback fans have always been known as being polite nad having class.  Over the last year we true Razorback fans have been given a bad name nad laughed at by many other organizations.  At the end of the season last year a group of fans banned together to wear black in protest of Nutt.  Once thye got what they wanted, and he resigned you figure that would be the end of the protest.

We now come to today.  Arkansas has a new coach in Bobby Patrino and Houston Nutt is now the head coach of Ole Miss. The former and coach, will return to Donald W. Reynolds Stadium for a game between his new team and his old.  I believe Houston Nutt will always be a Razorback fan no matter how sorry the "Razorback fans" treat him.  There are rumors flying around that the same group that wore black last year will wear black today. They are also planning to Boo Nutt when his new team takes the field.  All I have to say about that is GROW UP! MOVE ON! If you are a true fan of the Hogs you will like them win or lose. You would realize that we aren't having a great season and our current team and coach need our support.  Lets move on! Show some class. Go to this game and support your team! Be good sports. Houston Nutt is a great coach nad Ole Miss will give Arkansas a huge challenge today. We have already been humilated enough by the media because of your actions.  Lets not fuel the fire! Have a great Saturday, and GO HOGS!!

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

Our family has a fairly new tradition. Each year since we have been in Texas (with the exception of last year), Granny and Grandpa have come in town, and we have gone to the pumpkin patch. This year was no different.  We have an awesome one real close to us in Grapevine, TX.  Not only are there thousands of pumpkins, but they have a corn field maze that you can do in daylight or in the dark by flashlight.  If your not that adventurous, they also have a miniature maze made out of hay bails that the kids, or scared adults, can do.  Jordan was a pro at the maze so he took on the job of showing Austin the way.

In addition to the mazes they also have a house made out of hay.  Complete with a front door and side windows. This has always been one of Jordan's favorite parts. He ran right in and found a pumpkin. Not caring how big it was, he picked it up and posed in the window.

This year was a whole new experience for us. My brother Chris and his wife Katherine moved to North Texas in August.  We had a blast! Granny and Grandpa were excited to have all 3 of the grand kids in the same place at the same time. In years past it has been hard to do. We stopped and they held the kids down long enough to get a picture.

After that we decided this would be a good time to take some Carlisle and Cotter family pictures

Dad took a picture of Chris and I. Its been a very long time since we've had one. Usually one of us is holding the camera.

What a fun weekend! The kids all had a blast. Jordan and Austin in the hay house and Audrey playing in the pumpkins.

Why Fall weekends are perfect.

The weather is beginning to cool off, the leaves will soon change.  That means 2 things.  Football season is in full force and the tracks are heating up in Nascar.  I love the fall season.  The weather is as close to perfect as it can be.  Here in Texas we are slow in seeing the fall temps, but I know they are coming! "Perfect" to me is clear and sunny with temps in the mid 60s.  The weekends are the best part of the week for many reasons.  First, Jordan has no school.  We both get to sleep in and be lazy.  Then you have football.   Saturdays are filled with the college action.  I enjoy watching good close games! The Hogs may not be doing to good this year I am a fan regardless of how bad their season is.  As far as UT.  Wow, Hook em' Horns! After moving to Texas 3 years ago we decided it was only fair to follow the "home" team and Texas as yet to disappoint!  Sundays are just as exciting if not more.  We start our day spending some time with God.  With Chris working we aren't able to make it to a church service so Jordan and I worship at home.  After that we eat lunch and turn on Nascar.  Jordan loves watching the races because the cars go so fast! I love watching because of th excitement and of course the crashes! As long as everyone comes out safe the wrecks are the best part.  Sometimes while the race is going we have to switch over to watch the Cowboys.  I was raised to hate the Cowboys but after being so close to the action is is hard to hate them.  Yes they may have some cocky guys who could sure your an attitude adjustment but overall they are a great team.  What makes them even better for me this year is #28 Felix Jones.  What a great choice he was!.  My hopes for today's game against Cincinnati is that someone other than  TO gets the ball.  They should have no problem beating Cinci but you can't let your guard down either!

As you can probably tell I'm a huge sports fan.  The best sports happen in the fall.  You can't go wrong with football and Nascar!

Our TIger Cub

Good morning! I hope this post finds all well.  I just wanted to share a picture of Jordan with you.  about a month ago we signed Jordan up for Tiger Cubs.  Chris and I volunteered to be the leaders.  We are loving it! We have had 3 meetings and have 8 boys on the rolls.  It is going to be a very exciting year for us and we hope to make a lot of lifelong friends.  Jordan is SO excited. He is getting ready for his first camping trip on November 1st.  Its a family camp out so we are all looking forward to it.  It has been probably 15 years since Chris and I have gone out.  We can't wait!! I will be sure ot photo blog on that trip.  I am sure over the next year there will be lots of blogs about scouting!! Have a great Thursday!
