Seven years ago Chris and I got a new vacuum. We were young and didn't have a lot of money so we opted to get one of the Bissell's that Wal-mart had on sale. It was a great buy. The only issue we had was putting the stupid thing together. For 7 years it worked great! It was with us for 6 different houses and 7 years of having a kid. It never gave us issues....until last week. It just stopped sucking. It sucked! (sorry, stupid joke) I tried as hard as I could to bring it back to life. I changed the bag, I took the hose off and checked for clogs and I took the dang brush thing out and cleaned it off. Nothing worked.
RIP trusty friend
I debated many days on buying a new vacuum. We are a little older but still don't have a lot of money so i was ready to go buy another cheap one from Wal-mart. Chris and I decided that it would be better to just buy a good one, and in the long run that would save us money. So we decided on this little guy.
Please excuse the bike. Jordan ran over something and popped his tire. We are working on fixing it.
This is the Dyson DC14. We have been looking at Dysons for years and finally broke down and ordered one. By ordering from amazon we saved about $100!
I am totally in love with this thing. Why? Here are just a few reasons.
1. It will never lose suction!
2. It is lightweight
3. It has a long telescopic hose for cleaning high and low.
4. It does not use a bag. At first I wasn't sure I like this. All I could think was that when I got to empty the canister its going to get dust everywhere. Then I looked at how this was designed. The canister comes off and you hold it down in your trash can and push a release. The bottom opens and empties. No mess!! Not to mention you don't have to buy those expensive bags!
5. There is nothing more to buy. Meaning, it uses a filter but its WASHABLE!
6. Everything about it is easy to use including assembly. I was able to get it out of the box and put it together in about five minutes.
and...
7. You may think I'm weird but I get some satisfaction out of looking in that canister and seeing all the dirt and junk it picked up off my floor. Yes, it's gross, but what is more gross is knowing that had I not vacuumed that stuff would be on my floors!
If you are looking for a new vacuum and have a little extra money to spend I higly recommend the
Dyson DC14.
To end this post, here a few pictures that might just make you smile.
That is very much a Chris expression on Isaac's face!
